When you shop at Kalos, you are not just supporting us, but are in turn supporting the other local businesses, small businesses & enterprises, women entrepreneurs, local handicraft workers & artisans that we directly work with and source from.
One of the key aspects that we focus on is about how we could reduce the amount of waste we generate, not just from our daily operations, but even with regards to our overall waste generation both as individuals and as a community. We regularly hold collection drives through which we source pre-loved denim, cardboard boxes & other packaging materials, bottles etc., which we then either upcycle into products or repurpose for our operational requirements. Our aim is to create a system where eventually our waste generation would be absolutely minimal, and we do create would be offset by our other activities.
Majority of our product offerings are handmade products made by artisans, artists and women entrepreneurs. While this does leave room for human error, however, we truly believe these slight differences in each product give an authentic and rustic feel, and add character to each piece that you receive.
One of the key aspects that we actively focus on is trying to in almost every aspect that we do is Sustainability. At Kalos, we understand that no business can truly be 100% sustainable or zero waste as there would be creation of either negative environmental / ecological impact or creation of some waste. Our aim to adopt practices and processes that would help us offset any negative that we do have to effectively leave the net affect a positive and sustainable one.
An aspect we take pride in and focus on is the opportunity we have to work with the Indian Handicraft community, local artisans and artists. One of the main aims and focus of Kalos is to provide a platform that makes the various handcrafted arts available to all across the country, while trying to bring about awareness to the industry as well.
